Rotating mechanism - for eddy current testing

Image

Longitudinal-oriented imperfections and cracks on bare material can be detected very easily with eddy current testing using rotating sensors. During the rotation process, sensors rotate at high speed around the material under test. Longitudinal imperfections are scanned multiple times on each rotation and can therefore be detected reliably.

By using precision distance compensation, offset changes between sensor and material are compensated, enabling very reliable position-independent fault detection. With their high degree of sensitivity, GEMIT rotating mechanisms guarantee reliable detection of imperfections close to the surface. The ROM family of rotating systems is available from GEMIT for a large diameter range. They are easy to use and are extremely robust for industrial use. Exact material guiding and offset compensation guarantee accurate and reproducible test results. Typical applications for rotating heads are wire drawing systems, copper tube winders and the final test procedure for bright steel products.
